Obituary

Donna (Petruzzelli) Scott, 63, of Sharon, Vermont, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday August 4th at her home. Born in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Carmelo and Marilyn (Stevens) Petruzzelli. She was predeceased by her husband, Roger Scott, and her brother, Mark Petruzzelli.

Donna lived for her family and loved them dearly. She had a lifelong passion for animals and kept horses for most of her life. Her deep love of nature led her to make her home in beautiful Vermont.

Donna is survived by her three daughters: Melissa Petruzzelli and her life partner, Sharon Currier, of Hudson, Massachusetts; Marybeth Bennett and her husband, Andre, of New York; and Rebecca Petruzzelli of Vermont. She is also survived by her six grandchildren, Charlie, John, Colby, Albert, Matthew, and Wynter; her sister, Susan Hughes, and her husband, Maurice, of Massachusetts; her brothers, Steven of Georgia, Robert of New Hampshire, and Sebastian (Yano) of Massachusetts; and her sister-in-law, Joanne, of Georgia.

Donna also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She cherished her friends, especially Jessica, Jamie, and Timmy.

Donna adored her three dogs, Rex, Hank, and Victor.

Above all, Donna will be remembered as a proud and loving Nana whose quick wit and wisecracks brightened the many visits she shared with her family. A talented artist, she enjoyed creating her own artwork. She also loved the music of the 1970s and 1980s, and her favorite song was “Free Bird”—a fitting tribute now. Fly high, Donna. You are deeply loved and will be greatly missed.

Donna’s family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the first responders of Sharon, Vermont, and to Valley Crematory of White River Junction, Vermont, for their care and assistance.

A graveside service will be held Monday Oct. 19th at 11:00am in Wildwood Cemetery, Chestnut St., Ashland, MA. There are no calling hours.
