Donald Austin Larick, Jr. passed away peacefully at his home in Milford, MA on June 30, 2015 at the age of 71 after suffering from Parkinson's disease and Dementia. Don is survived by his wife Danice Larick, his daughter and her husband, Dara and Tom Washburn of Ashland MA, his son Kent Larick of Boston MA, his sister Barbara (Bunny) MacCartney of Lakewood, Ohio and Danice's three daughters and their husbands, Jessica and David Gazzaniga of Santa Ana, CA, Rachel and Dermott Caffrey of Southboro, MA and Andrea and John Lareau of Ashland, MA. Don is also survived by 12 grandchildren and his 3 nephews. Don was born on February 23, 1944 in East Cleveland, OH and attended Kent State University. After spending almost a year living in Europe and then eventually settling in Massachusetts, Don began a long career in television production and operations management working for WBZ in Boston and ESPN. Don taught television production at Mt. Ida and Boston College for many years and won several awards including 4 Emmys for work during his career. Don always had a dog by his side, enjoyed tinkering with antique clocks and other "treasures" and liked listening to music. He liked walking in the woods and spending summers with his family and friends at his camp in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan where he spent much time as a child growing up. He enjoyed traveling with Danice and spending time with good friends in Maine. Don's ready wit and easy charm added a welcome warmth to gatherings of family and friends. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday July 8th at 11am at Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland, MA. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9am to 11am.
