Dominic Zaffino, 78, of Framingham, passed away,Friday, Feb. 27th at his winter home in New Bern, NC. Born in Milford, he was the son of the late Nicola and Theresa (Sita) Zaffino. Mr. Zaffino was a longtime employee of New England Telephone Company, and ADESSA Co. after retiring. He served his country honorably with the Coast Guard from 1950 to 1953. He is survived by one daughter, Linda Herring and her husband William of Athol, Idaho; one son, Marc Zaffino and his wife Olga of Framingham; four grandchildren; Lydia, Walker, Forrest, and Natalie Herring; his former wife Joyce Comstock, the mother of his children; and his second wife Suzanne Walker; two brothers, Richard Zaffino of Framingham, and Nicky Zaffino of Dennis, MA; and four sisters: Elena Davies of Framingham, Olga Bartels of Florida, Elaine Zaffino of Virginia, and Lydia Dumas of Framingham; and his good friend, Roberta Roberti. He was the brother of the late Elia Thouren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 7th at 4:00 pm in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.
