Debra A. O'Connor, 60, of Ashland passed away Friday June 9th after a hard fought battle with cancer. Born in Hudson, MA, raised in Framingham, and graduated from Framingham South High School in 1975; she was the daughter of the late James and Iva (Gee) Patterson. She was a resident of Ashland for the last 25 years.
She is survived by one daughter; Kelly O'Connor of Ashland; and her siblings; Keith Patterson of Medway, Joan Patterson of Thompson, CT, Dale Patterson of Upton, Pamela Mulhall of Plymouth, and Donna Weidman of Ashland, and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late; Jean Varney of Bellingham, Milton Patterson of Framingham, Shirley Cohen of Tampa, FL, and Michael Patterson of Framingham.
Debbie worked as an accounting control manager at BJ's Wholesale Club where she was employed for 42 years. She was admired and loved by her colleagues for her depth of knowledge and positive, committed attitude. Debbie loved her "work family."
Debbie was an avid sports fan who loved cheering for Tom Brady and the Patriots. She also supported numerous charitable organizations, including the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the Wounded Warriors Project, as well as the Ashland Public Schools.
Debbie loved her large family and was a proud mother to her daughter, Kelly. Her heart and her home were always open to friends and family. Debbie's smile and spirit will always be cherished by all of those who knew her.
A funeral service will be held Sat. June 17th at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland with urn interment at Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours will be held Friday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701
