Dave Sistrand, formerly of Ashland, MA and Wilmington, DE, passed away on July 6, 2025, at the age of 90, surrounded by family.

Born in Bridgeport, CT to Beatrice and Harold Sistrand, Dave was predeceased by his wife of 31 years, Joanne (Gaines) Sistrand, with whom he raised two sons in Ashland: David Sistrand Jr. (wife Renee) and Arthur Sistrand (wife Janine). He later married Susan Cahill Hari, his wife of 23 years.

Dave was a beloved grandfather to Jessica, Joshua, Elizabeth, Hannah, Olivia, Timothy, Carolyn, and Ryan, and great-grandfather to Ethan and Madison. He also cherished Susan's daughters, Elissa and Taryn, and was a proud grandfather to their children: Hannah, Sophie, and Jack. He remained close with his in-laws and their families.

A U.S. Army veteran who served in Germany, Dave worked as a Field Engineer for Algonquin Gas & Transmission. In Ashland, he was deeply involved in the community—as a 50-year Golden Member of the Lions Club, member of The Elks, VFW, and American Legion, a church volunteer, and Past President of Ashland Little League.

Dave was predeceased by his brother, Harold. In retirement, he enjoyed travel, fine dining, and dancing with Susan, along with time spent with their large, loving family and many friends.

A funeral service will be held Thursday July 10th at 12:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA. Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 9:00-11:30am prior to the service.
