David L. Herring, 75, of Ashland, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 1st, at his home. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Stephen and Helen (Chatterton) Herring. David was the husband of Linda (Breece) Herring for 29 years. He worked as a graphic artist for The Christian Science Monitor newspaper in Boston before retiring to engage in a graphic design business with his wife as partner. David served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and was a Vietnam combat veteran.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Stephen Herring, of Florida.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, Dec. 11, at 1:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Ashland, MA.
