Ashland - David E. Foley, 78, of Ashland, died peacefully on May 18, 2011. Born on June 4, 1932 in Brockton, MA, David was the son of the late Edward and Pearl (Henderson) Foley. He was raised in Natick and moved to Ashland in 1961. David enlisted in the U.S. Army and National Guard being honorably discharged in 1962. He worked in the supermarket industry, most recently at Shaws in Ashland. He was best known as owner and operator of Bidino's Pizza in Ashland and Milford. David enjoyed bowling and playing cards with his friends, fishing, watching the Boston Red Sox, and being with his family. David was married to the late Evelyn (Atkinson) Foley who died in 1985. He is survived by three sons and their wives, Brian and Wendi of Westford, Wayne and Sharon of Greeneville, TN, and Eric and Julie of Douglas; a sister, Eleanor Rogers of Framingham, a brother, Robert and his wife Margaret of Moncton, New Brunswick; four grandchildren, Sean, Scott, Matthew, and Meghan and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, John. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 21st at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. Calling hours will be held Saturday from 12:00-2:00 PM prior to the service.
