David Albert
Bjork
Aug 26, 1944 — Aug 15, 2026
David Albert Bjork (“Turk”) died August 15, 2026, in Newton, Massachusetts, just 11 days shy of his 82nd birthday.
Born August 26, 1944, David was the youngest of three boys—William, Paul, and David. He grew up in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School, where many of his closest and lifelong friendships began.
David worked at the Wayland Town Crier, where he found both his career in printing and the love of his life, Marcia. In partnership with a good friend, he went on to establish a successful printing business, the Printery, in Natick, eventually relocating to Holliston under the Amprint name.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed living along and golfing at the Framingham Country Club, where he appreciated the camaraderie and forged deep friendships. But some of his happiest times were spent with family and friends at Thompson Lake in Maine. There, David and Marcia spent countless hours floating on innertubes and dragging friends and family behind the ski boat. It was their happy place.
David and Marcia eventually retired to Florida, where they embraced the golfing community at The Renaissance and enjoyed the good life together.
Marcia predeceased David in 2013. He is survived by his sons Barry and his wife MaryLynn, David and his partner Monica, and Steven. Family was always important to David, and he was especially close to his sisters-in-law Peggy and Kathy, and his nieces and nephews Billy, Donny and his wife Cindy, Helena and her husband Paul, Steve, and Karin. He is also survived by grandchildren Corey and his wife Rachel, Michael and his wife Caroline, Adam, Devin and his wife Brittany, and Lisa and her husband Tim. David was a proud great-grandfather to seven, a great-uncle to nine, and a great-great-uncle to three. And not to be left out were Harry, Cleo, Teddy, Joshua, Bonnie, and so many other four-legged friends who were part of David’s extended family.
David was a man who loved life, his family and countless friends, the Red Sox, and a good gimlet.
A celebration of life is being planned. Details to follow.
