Danina M. Swain, 88, formerly of Framingham passed away Sunday Oct. 16th at The Maples in Wrentham. Born and raised in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia; Danina was the wife of the late Charles Swain Sr. who died in 2012. They were residents of Framingham for almost 50 years and Mrs. Swain was a former member of the Amvets Ladies Auxiliary in Framingham. She worked as a cafeteria worker for the Framingham School System as well as a nanny for several families in the Framingham area.

She is survived by seven children; Alice Rousseau and her husband John of Bellingham; Charles Swain Jr. and his wife Darlene of Groton, NY; Christina Jewell and her husband John of Natick; Elizabeth Balboni of Framingham; Richard Swain and his wife Nancy of Chelmsford; Frederick Swain and his wife Karen of Bellingham; and Genevive Cedrone and her husband Robert of Bellingham; seventeen grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. In addition, she raised five nieces and nephews; Herb Swain, Nancy Lindsey, Margaret Kilczewski, Francis Swain, and Rena Swain.

A funeral service will be held Thursday Oct. 20th at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland with burial to follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery in Framingham. Calling hours will be held Wednesday from 5:00-8:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Metrowest Hospice, 200 Nickerson Rd. Ste 110, Marlborough, MA 01752
