Daniel J. Desmarais 86 of Ashland passed away November 21st at home. He was born the son of the late Walter and Florence (Sweeney) Desmarais. He had lived in Ashland since 1957 and was formerly of Natick. He attended Natick High School, Class of 1942. After serving his country in the United States Army he worked as a printer with the Dennison Manufacturing Co. in Framingham for over 50 years. He was a police officer with the Ashland Police Department retiring in 1985. He is survived by one son: Daniel F. Desmarais of Yarmouth. Two daughters: Diane Pierce and her husband William of Upton, and Sandra Gooch and her partner Roy Fournier of Milford. Four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday November 26th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home 325 Main St. Ashland (www.mataresefuneral.net)with calling hours to be held on Friday evening from 5 to 7:00pm in the funeral home.
