Dana R. Seaman, 62, of Ashland passed away on December 28th in Framingham. He was the son of the late Herbert and Marion (Pollard) Seaman. Born on Dec 22,1951 in Pittsfield, MA, what a Christmas gift Stan and Louise got that year. Dana went to school in Ashland, Ma where he took a stab at playing the trumpet for a while. He was elected class flirt by his graduating classmates. He married Amy Lindstead and they had a son Jeremy in 1970. Although the marriage didn't last, they remained good friends throughout their lives. Dana worked for several years as a design engineer and eventually landed a position at Genzyme where he worked until his death. He also owned his own vending company which is still up and running. Dana was always very family oriented, never moving too far from his home town. He actually briefly shared an apartment with his sisters in Natick and even moved back home to care for his mother after the death of his father. He loved the outdoor life. Especially hunting with his lifelong friend Cappy Fournier. He is survived by one son, Jeremy D. Seaman of Eugene, Oregon, one brother Keith Seaman of Allenstown, NH, two sisters; Sandra Benes of Ashland and Ronda Danis of Grand Isle, Vermont, one granddaughter Teasha Seaman and several nieces and nephews. He is also predeceased by his sister Janet (Seaman) Fournier. A memorial service will be held at Faith Community Church, route 135 in Hopkinton on Saturday, January 4 at 2PM. There are no calling hours. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland.
