Port Orange

Obituary

Connie Hennessey, 89 of Port Orange FL. Formerly of Ashland MA. Peacefully passed away at home after a short illness, surrounded by her loving family on Monday November 4, 2024.

In retirement Connie moved to Port Orange FL in 1997 with her husband Bernie who passed away in 2003.  She worked at Factory Card Outlet for many years retiring at 75. She was also a volunteer at Volusia Hospice Resale Shop in Port Orange.

At age 85 she joined the Port Orange Elks lodge #2723. She was a regular there for weekly Wednesday night bingo and a volunteer for setting up Friday bingo. She loved spending time with her bingo family at the Elks.

Connie was a loving mother and friend to all that knew her.  She was a wonderful storyteller, had a quick wit and loved to laugh, joking with everyone right up to her last days with her family.

To say Connie was lucky would be an understatement.  She loved the slots, bingo and her daily card games of Skat and Skipbo.  She won often!

Connie was pre-deceased by her brother Richard Stumpf and her sisters Jane Williams and Betty Martin.

Connie was a loving mother to Debbie Hall and her husband Dick, Rita McQuinn and her husband Dave, Rick and his life partner Sonya Finch and Joe and his wife Nicole.  She also leaves nine Grandchildren, twelve great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life is planned in Port Orange in January.  Burial will be private in Ashland Massachusetts.

Donations may be made to the Hospice Care Center of Volusia, Flagler County, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange FL 32119, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital. https://www.stjude.org/
