Clifford H. Straw, 77 of Ashland, previously of Waltham, passed away Thursday Jan. 22nd after a period of declining health. He was the son of the late Irving Straw and Constance (Archdeacon) Straw and loving husband of 55 years to Janice (Heath) Straw. Mr. Straw worked in the construction field serving as Chief Financial Officer to George Macomber Construction Co.; Tocci Building Corporation; Mass. Transportation Authority (MBTA); and M.L. McDonald Company. In addition, he served as a financial consultant to the Commodore Builders Corporation, trustee and chairman of the Finance Committee of Associated General Contractors of MA, and founding member of the MA Chapter of Contractors Financial Management. Cliff was a member of Woodland Golf Club in Auburndale, past member of the American Legion Post 156 Band, and founding member of Sof touch Big Band. In addition to his wife; he is survived by three children, Clifford Straw Jr. and his wife Linda of Windham, NH; Sharon Donovan and her husband Robert of Franklin; and Brian Straw of Ashland; six grandchildren; Ryan, Colin, and Alicia Donovan; and Matthew, Olivia, and Caroline Straw; sister-in-law, Gail Zorn, and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, Jan. 26th at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty Street in Ashland with burial to follow in Calvary Cemetery in Waltham. Calling hours will be held Sunday from 3:00-5:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Miriam Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence, 10 Green Way, Wayland, MA 01778
