Clifford P. Pehoviak, 91, of Ashland, died Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2009. He was the beloved husband of Joan (Biselli) Pehoviak for 65 years. Born in raised in Webster, MA; he was the son of the late Stanley and Catherine (Lanigan) Pehoviak. After graduating from Bartlett High School in Webster, he enlisted in the US Army. He served for 5 years in the 67th Anti-aircraft Division in Iceland, Greenland, and Scotland. After his marriage to Joan, they moved to Framingham, where he worked at Dennison Manufacturing as a printer and then as a letter carrier for 29 years with the USPS in the Saxonville area of Framingham. Upon his retirement he was recognized for never having taken a sick day. He was liked and admired by all the residents on his route. He loved being "Cliff the Mailman". Cliff enjoyed gardening, tending his yard, playing pitch, and bocce at Columbus Hall, where he was an honorary member. He and Joan were renowned ballroom dancers at weddings and dances at Columbus Hall. He was an avid sports fan, especially enjoying the Red Sox, Patriots, and Notre Dame football. He was an avid boxing fan and a skilled boxer himself. In addition to his wife, he is suvived by his children; Joan Ayotte of Kingston, MA; Paul Pehoviak of Ashland, and John Pehoviak and his wife Laura of Monson, MA. He leaves his sister, Claire Plante of Dudley, MA; and is predeceased by his sister Dorothy Chabot and brother Howard Pehoviak. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Josh and Jon Ayotte, and Drew and Megan Pehoviak; and several nieces and one nephew. Husband, Dad, brother, Grampie, uncle, and friend, he will be tremendously missed. The family would like to thank the Natick VNA staff, the staff at Oak Knoll Healthcare, and the Allegiance Hospice staff for the kindness and wonderful care given to Cliff. Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for visiting hours on Saturday, Oct. 17th from 10:00am-12:00PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland. A funeral service will be held at Saturday at 12:00 PM following calling hours in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.
