Claire (Carr) Ziemer, 85, of Ashland, MA passed away Friday Feb. 3rd after a period of declining health.  The daughter of Aloysius and Claire (Schaefer) Carr, she was the wife of Arthur R. Ziemer for 61 years.  Claire was a lifelong resident of Merion, PA before moving to Ashland in 2015 to be closer to family.  She was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, a devoted community volunteer, and served as the secretary of the Merion Civic Association for many years.  She enjoyed world travel and skiing.

In addition to her husband; she is survived by three children; Douglas Ziemer and his wife Diana of Pennsylvania; Jeffrey Ziemer and his wife Bridgette of Nebraska; and Leslie Marci and her husband Peter of Ashland, MA; and nine grandchildren; Corey, Kristen, Arthur, Carly, and Erica Ziemer, and Jack, Joseph, Claire, and Lauren Marci.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31st at 10:30 at St. Matthias Church in Bala Cynwyd PA, with a reception to follow at the Merion Tribute House.  Donations in her memory may be made to the Milford Humane Society, P.O. Box 171 Medway, MA 02053 from where she adopted her beloved cat Emmitt.
