Cheryl Lynn
Szolomayer
Mar 21, 1952 — Dec 29, 2025
Ashland
Cheryl Lynn (Kohn) Szolomayer 73, of Ashland, MA passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 29, 2025.
She was born in Northampton, MA on March 21, 1952, the daughter of the late Kurt H. Kohn, MD and Katherine P. Kohn.
She is survived and missed by her loving and devoted husband of 50 years, John Szolomayer, three children, John J Szolomayer, his wife Cynthia Ramirez and their son Ivan Pulido; Lauren Szolomayer, MD, her husband Pablo Diaz Collado, MD, their sons Pablo and Benjamin Diaz Szolomayer; and Kristen Szolomayer CNP and her partner Joshua Child and their daughter Zoe Kay Szolomayer. Cheryl is also survived by three siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cheryl spent her early career at Dennison Manufacturing in credit management before working in John's court reporting business and caring for their three children. She later completed her teaching and Master's Degree from Framingham State and went on to work at Natick High School for more than 15 years as a special education math teacher. There she dedicated her time and skill to teaching students with learning disabilities. Cheryl ultimately retired from teaching to help care for her grandson and continued tutoring students at Kids Connect in Natick.
She was a dedicated wife and mother, and a proud, loving grandmother. Her love for learning and selflessness inspired her children to dedicate their careers to service of others with all three choosing careers in different aspects of medicine.
She loved to laugh, having a sharp wit despite consistently telling the corniest "mom jokes." She loved music from classical composers to Elvis to Bad Bunny. She enjoyed sunsets and shell-hunting at the beaches of Cape Cod, eating lobster with the family, and gardening. She was an avid reader and an excellent baker, especially at Christmastime. She continued to find great joy in spending time with her family and her beautiful grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, consider donations in Cheryl's name to American Parkinsons Disease Association (APDA) .
Services will be held at a later date.
Devoted Wife, Beloved Mother, Caring Grandma.
Rest in Peace
