Charles Pontremoli, 80, of Framingham, passed away peacefully on May 18th at Oak Knoll Healthcare in Framingham. He was the son of the late Egidio and Julia (Otenti) Pontremoli. A lifelong resident of Framingham, Charlie was educated in Framingham Schools. He served in the United States Coast Guard during the Korean War and was a fireman with the Town of Framingham for 17 years retiring in 1979. He was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed a good game of poker. He loved the beach and spent many winter in Deerfield Beach, FL. He took pleasure in playing golf, watching sports, and especially loved being "Nono" to his three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren. He leaves behind his former first wife, Lillian Pontremoli of Holliston and their four children; Karen Pontremoli and her husband Brian Skidmore of Marblehead, MA; Julie Mahoney of Holliston; Dianne Cassidy and her husband James of Holliston; and the late Lawrence Pontremoli, who died in 2008; three grandchildren; Shane Mahoney, Amanda Cassidy , and Joseph Cassidy; his former second wife; Patricia Pontremoli of Framingham, three step-children; Steven Tosches of Ashland, Roberta Tessisini of Ashland, and Christopher Tosches of Framingham; two step-grandchildren, Christina and Nicholas Tessisini; and two brothers, Cerilo Pontremoli of Holliston, and Adelmo Pontremoli of Framingham. He was the brother of the late Egidio and Norman Pontremoli, and Norma Quick. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 21st at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. in Ashland.
