Charles Malcolm Bruce, 66, of Framingham passed away Wednesday, November 11, at his home in Framingham, MA, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. "Mac" was the son of the late William and Jean (Witherup) Bruce and husband of Victoria (Lupien) Bruce. Born in Cumberland, MD, Mac lived in Sweden and South Africa as a youth, attended Middle school in Akron, OH, and high school in Rome, Italy. A graduate of Curry College, Mac went on to work as an oil laboratory chemist at Doble Engineering Company, in Watertown, MA, for 40 years. Mac was a good athlete, playing high school basketball and skiing the Alps of Italy and Austria. He and his family sailed the Tyrrhenian Sea in summer and toured Europe year round. Above all, he was an avid and exceptional golfer, enjoying golf not only in the United States but in South Africa and at Acqua Santa Golf Course along the Appian Way southeast of Rome. Mac was a devoted husband, dad and papa. He was a strong, gentle man with a superb sense of humor. Mac loved life to its fullest and was a hero to all who came into his life. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children – Kimberly Cirrone and her husband, Jon, of Uxbridge; Scott Bruce of Framingham and Jaime Kosowan and her husband, Derek, of Framingham; five grandchildren – Adison and Kailey Cirrone, Mason Bruce, and Tristan and Evan Kosowan – twin brother, Cam Bruce, his wife, Sheila (Hennessey), and daughters, Shannon and Emmarose, of Moraga, CA; sister Jean Bruce of Atlanta, GA; loving niece, Alana Lupien, as well as many, loving cousins, nieces and nephews. A celebration of Mac's life will be held at a later date.
