Baker, Charles Hem Ashland/Hopkinton Charles Hem Baker, 54, of Hopkinton, formerly of Ashland, passed away, Wednesday, Sept. 5th at his home in Hopkinton. Born in Lancaster, NH; he was the son of the late Hallett and Thelma (Hem) Baker and husband of Ednamarie Baker. A life long resident of Ashland, Mr. Baker worked as a truck mechanic. He enjoyed fishing and stock car racing and was an avid NASCAR fan. He is survived by five children: Laura Baker of Ashland and Seth Baker of Grafton and their mother, Janet Baker of Ashland; and Alicia , Carly, and James Baker of Ashland; one granddaughter, Helayna Baker, and three brothers, Hallett Baker of Holliston, David Baker of Hopkinton, and Robert Baker of Concord, NH. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 8th at 10:00am in Glenwood Cemetery in South Natick. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home (www.mataresefuneral.com) 325 Main St. in Ashland.
