Charles Allen Rund, 65, of Ashland, passed away, unexpectedly Sunday, Sept. 4th peacefully sleeping at his home in Ashland. Born in Ashland, he was the son of the late Charles and Marjorie (Parris) Rund and husband to the late Diane (Porter) Rund who died in 2003. A lifelong resident of Ashland, Charles worked as an oil burner technician for Coan Oil for 32 years and was a member of the Teamsters Local 25. He was an avid Boston sports fan, hunter and member of the Wednesday golf league at Wayland CC. Mr. Rund served his country honorably with the 9th Marine Corp Division - Communications Group during the Vietnam Conflict. He is survived by four children: Andy Rund and his wife Kim of Ashland; Laura Rund of Ashland; Kelly Rund of Ashland; and Danielle Rund of Holliston; five grandchildren: Owen, Nichole, Sarah, Alicia, and Caitlyn; one sister, Carol Colaianni of Hudson; three brothers: Robert Rund of Medway, Steve Scotland of Tucson, AZ, and Jeff Scotland of Wisconsin; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Saturday, Sept. 10th at 10am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.
