Catherine Mary Rocheford 95, passed away Wednesday September 6th at Bethany Healthcare Center, after a period of declining health. She would have turned 96 on September 22nd. Mrs. Rocheford was born in Worcester and was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (O'Day) Hanley. She was a graduate of the Worcester Trade School and worked for the NE Telephone Company for over 22 years. In her younger years Mrs. Rocheford enjoyed brisk walks, always offering a smile and kind word to everyone she met. She loved music and could often be heard singing old favorites. Catherine was a loving mother and grandmother who always put her family first. She will be missed by many. Mrs. Rocheford is survived by her children; Anne Rocheford of Ashland, John Rocheford and his wife Joan of Auburn, MA, Catherine Mooney and her husband Brian of Ashland, four grandchildren; Christopher Mooney of Ashland, Paul Rocheford of Joshua Tree, CA, Katie Mooney-Haynes of Milford, and Julie Cedrone of Auburn; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Helen Travers of Worcester, and three brothers; Raymond Hanley of Milford, NH, George Hanley of Worcester, and John Hanley of Marlborough. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, September 11th at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Bethany Healthcare Center, 97 Bethany Road, Framingham. Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-5 PM at the Matarese Funeral Home (www.mataresefuneral.com) 325 Main Street, Ashland, MA.
