Carol L. Ambacher, 81, of Ashland passed away peacefully Aug. 24th surrounded by her loving friends after a courageous battle with cancer.   Born in Darby, PA, she was the daughter of the late Francis and Anne (Grinnan) Lowe.  Carol attended Chestnut Hill College in Philadelphia and embarked on a long career in telecommunications.  She started out as a Service Representative for New England Telephone and later held a variety of managerial positions in sales, service, and training, both for AT&T and Avaya.  She retired as an Operational Manager for AT&T in 2001.

Carol was active in the Ashland community, first as a past trustee of the Ashland Public Library and more recently as a resident of the Leah Estates Community.  We would like to acknowledge the love and support she received from her many Ashland Friends.  They rallied around her through many illnesses and surgeries.  Carol cherished living among so many wonderful friends and neighbors.

We would also like to thank Faith and Family Hospice and the Marion Boyd Parlin Hospice Residence for their compassion and professionalism throughout Carol's final days.

Carol is survived by her brother, Donald Lowe and his wife Joyce of Newark, DE, devoted friend, Joan Lanza of Clinton, MA, and was the sister of the late Marcella Dougherty of Alden, PA.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday Oct. 5th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.  One visiting hour will be held from 10:00-11:00 AM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Carol's name to the Friends of the Ashland Public Library, 66 Front St., Ashland, MA  01721.
