Bennett, C. Morgan, 3rd (Skip)

Skip Bennett, 81, of Ashland, died peacefully on March 15, 2024 at his home. He was the husband of Sandi (Larson) Bennett and leaves a son, Ryan, and his wife Marisa of Holden, a daughter, Pamela, and her husband Jorge of Milford and grandchildren Andrew, Ella, Sofia and Keira. Skip is survived by his sister, Nancy Weustenhagen of Maryland. He leaves a sister-in-law, Judith Moynihan, and her husband John of Framingham and brother-in-law, William Larson, and his wife Joan of Thousand Oaks, CA. He also leaves his loyal companion, Bailey.

Skip was born on March 31,1942, the son of C. Morgan, Jr. and Doris Bennett, and spent his early years in Maryland. After graduating from Towson High School in 1960, he enlisted in the United States Navy. Skip served during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was deployed on a ship that assisted in this mission. He earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and worked in this field until his retirement in 2009.

During retirement, Skip and Sandi enjoyed travelling throughout the Caribbean and Florida. Skip was a fixture at the athletic and artistic activities of his grandchildren and remained a constant influence in their lives.

Skip will be remembered for his unconditional love of Sandi and devotion to his children and grandchildren. To those who had the good fortune of knowing him, Skip was a kind and gentle soul.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday April 5th at 5:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.  One visiting hour will be held Friday from 3:30-4:30 PM prior to the service.
