BEVERLY JUNE OLSON KENNEY DOB 06/24/1932 DOD 2/21/2024

OUR BEAUTIFUL MAZY. Our mom, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, and very dear friend.

Anyone who knew Beverly knew she was a lover of people, especially of children. Raised in VT, a piece of her heart remained there, but she lived her life intentionally in Ashland, MA where she and her beloved husband, Chuck, aka Pazy, raised their 3 children. Mazy believed charity begins at home and this sentiment spread far and wide because her home became home to all who entered.

Beverly was the daughter of the late Ernest and Edith (Anderson) Olson and the beloved wife of the late Charles Edward Kenney. She is survived by her son Charles E Kenney II of Worcester, daughters Christine Muir and husband Michael of West Boylston, and Laura Woods and husband Bradley of New Durham, NH. Mazy also leaves 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren: Joshua Kenney and his wife Sarahbess, their children, Aliyah & Zoriah;  Jacob Kenney and his wife Natalya, their children, Vladimir and Konstantin; Joel Kenney and his children, Cole and Weston; Amanda Woods and her husband Shawn Murray, their son, Sawyer; Brittany Schulthess and her husband Drew, their children, Hans and Anders; Sarah Reed and her husband John Robert Reed; Faith Kenney and her husband Jamie, their son, Jaxson.  In addition, Beverly is survived by her brother, Ernest E. Olson and his wife Bonnie of Rutland, VT, and her sisters, Linda Olson Carrington Brown of Castleton, VT, and Virginia Naylor and her husband David of Rutland, VT.

Other than family, she is most proud of the years spent as a member of The United States Air Force in service to our country. A talented gardener, her green thumb was evident both inside and outside of her home. Beverly was also a talented artist who shared her talents with the community by donating several paintings locally. Her big heart was shared with the people at The Federated Church as well as throughout town.

We will never lose sight of how fortunate we have all been to have Mazy as our Matriarch, Aunt, Sister, and dear friend. Somehow she managed to teach all of us crucial life lessons without us ever knowing she was doing so. We often wonder if she even realized how much she was passing along simply by living her life the way she did.

Our mom taught by example and her lessons came through loud and clear. Witnessing the way she treated everyone around her taught us the true meaning of unconditional love and what it means to have empathy. Mazy taught us what acceptance looks like and that it is not the same as tolerance. She taught us not only to consider what someone is going through but to keep it as our focus before reacting to their 'not so good' behavior. When it came to kindness, it was offered to everyone, not just to those she knew. By doing so Mazy showed us what kindness is and what kindness does. She single-handedly changed the world by offering simple, kind words wherever she went and by standing up for anyone not being treated kindly.

'LOOK FOR THE BLUEBIRD' is a lesson learned well from her mom and Mazy did a wonderful job passing it on so we can do the same. At times, that little bluebird of happiness may be a struggle to find, but she showed us it's almost always there. We just have to remember to look for it.

The wonderful gift of God is probably the greatest gift my mom gave. She never tried to hide her faith, but she gave this precious gift without lectures, without pushing, without insistence, and without forcing anything about God, Jesus, or religious practices in general on any of us. Simply by living a life with God at its center, the lesson was absorbed. Her faith was unwavering whether in happy, peaceful times or when facing life's many struggles, turmoils, and pain. By example, she taught us the importance of never being afraid to stand our ground when it comes to our beliefs. Even if it made people talk. Even if people judged. No one could take her faith or beliefs away from her because they were part of who she was. Thanks to her, they're now a part of so many of us. What incredible gifts.

Our Dear Mazy, We hope you're having a nice slow dance with Pazy. We can hear you sitting in the stands yelling, 'Batter, batter, batter', as he stands at the plate getting ready to hit a homer'. Okay, let's be real…you may be doing that, but you're also probably teasing him about the absolute faith he had in those beloved Red Sox of his. We can hear you saying something like, 'I don't know, Charlie, I think they should be called the Red Flops because we all know they're going to flop again". Appropriately so, they truly lost that nickname when they finally won it all the year he joined them out in that field from heaven to help them along to the finish!

Give Pazy and all our ancestors our love. We'll see you all again - when our turn comes. Until then, we'll be carrying the fullness of you inside our hearts right beside the place where we carry Pazy.

Your life has left its deep etchings within the hearts and souls of all those who were fortunate enough to know you. Go now. Spread your mighty wings and fly. We'll keep looking and finding that bluebird and every time we see one, we'll take it as a remembrance of you. Thank you for being you. We love you and always will, our dear sweet Mom.

May Beverly's legacy of unwavering faith, kindness, and love for people continue through the caring of children.
