Beatrice E. (Lundberg) Fahey, 90, of Lowell, formerly of Ashland, MA and Peaks Island, ME, died peacefully on January 21, 2017 at D'Youville Life & Wellness Community. She was the beloved wife of the late Norbert H. Fahey for 54 years.
Born in Sanford, ME, on May 20, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lena (Demers) Fahey and the late Harvey LaCroix, and the stepdaughter of the late Fred Lundberg. She moved to Medford, MA in her youth, where she graduated from Medford High School and then continued on to Cambridge City Hospital School of Nursing. She was a dedicated nurse, beginning her career at Cambridge City Hospital, working many years as a visiting nurse for the town of Ashland and completing her career at Regis College.
She was a devoted wife and mother of seven children, grandmother of 16 and great grandmother of 10. She is survived by her children Andrea H. Giombetti and her husband Rick of Hampden, MA, Frederic H. Fahey and his wife Chris of Jamaica Plain, MA, Jay P. Fahey and his wife Stacey of Westford, MA, Kevin M. Fahey and his wife Judy of Arlington, VA, Brian H. Fahey and his wife Jean of Scarborough, ME, and Meaghan F. Engdahl and her husband Rich of Andover, MA. In addition to her husband Norbert H. Fahey, she is predeceased by her son Norbert H. Fahey Jr.
She loved reading, crosswords, the beach, ice cream and her gin & tonics, but mostly spending time with people. She could often be found playing games or creating "something" with one of her grandchildren. Her constant smile and easy laugh will always be remembered.
A funeral service will be held Tue. Jan. 24th at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church, 54 Esty St. Ashland. Calling hours will be held Monday from 5:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland.
