Barbara F. Thoresen, 88, longtime resident of Ashland passed away Wed. Nov. 12th after a brief period of declining health. Born in Milford, she was the daughter of the late Freeman and Katherine (Tucy) Bullard. Barbara was the loving wife of Jens Thoresen Sr. who died in 2019.

Mrs. Thoresen worked as a school crossing guard in Ashland for 49 years retiring in 2020. She supported her community as a dedicated member and past president of the Ashland Lions Club and was a Melvin Jones recipient.  In addition to her many years with the Lions, Barbara quietly supported several other organizations in the Ashland community.

She is survived by four children, Gail Manning and her husband Tom of Clinton, WA, Paula Lammerding and her husband Eric of Ashland, Jens Thoresen Jr and his wife Deb of Ashland and Jane Plasse and her late husband Lloyd of Whitman, MA, eight grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren, and her brother Richard Bullard. She was the sister of the late Alice Baia, Ann Mastroianni, Helen Henneberry, Robert Bullard, and Deborah Doveno.

A funeral service will be celebrated Monday Nov. 17th at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. Visiting hours will be held Sunday from 1:00-5:00 PM in the funeral home.
