Barbara A. Peters, 79, of Ashland passed away Thursday, February 20th at Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham. She was daughter to the late Charles Davis and Mildred (Keegan) Davis. She was a loving mother and mother-in-law. She is survived by two sons; Robert Peters and his wife Patricia of Oxford, MA, Charles Peters and his wife Lisa of Fort Meyers, FL, four daughters; Karen Dias and her husband Elmenio of Bradenton, FL, Pauline Peters and her partner Teri Eori of Grafton, MA, Susan Wright and her husband Stephen of Mendon, MA, and Barbara Ann Barras and her husband Scott of South Burlington, VT. She was the proud grandmother to 11 grandchildren - Timothy, Nicole, Alycia, Melissa, Nick, Chris, Cody, Tamara, Tabitha, Tia, and Felicity; and 14 great-grandchildren - Dominic, Isabella, Sophia, Griffin, Alathia, Nicholas, Anthony, Austin, CJ, Jace, Destony, Tio, Mariah, and Jaxson. One of 9 children, she is survived by one sister; Dorothy Bassette of Amherst, MA and four brothers; Charles Davis, Robert Davis, Edward Davis, amd Larry Davis. Barbara worked at Roxbury Carpet and was a clerk manager at Kmart for 25+ years. She was proud of her career as a model in her earlier years - being discovered at Shoppers World. She enjoyed playing cards, planning events and socializing with her good friend, Clara. To pass time she enjoyed playing Bingo, keeping in touch with friends and family online, growing her butterfly collection, crocheting, and watching Chuck Norris movies. She had a great sense of humor and made friends easily. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 23rd at 4PM in the chapel at the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland. Calling hours will be held from 2-4PM prior to the service.
