Barbara J (Simmons) Marcus, 87, of Ashland passed away peacefully surrounded by family and close friends on Sat. Nov. 17 ^th .  She was the wife of the late George A Marcus.  Born in Millis, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Jessie (Chilson) Simmons.  She worked for her family business, Parker's Express in Ashland and later worked for Deloitte and Touche until her retirement in 2002.  She was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed attending Patriots games with her family.  She enjoyed bingo and traveling; taking trips to Aruba, Las Vegas, Ireland, Italy, and Alaska with her friends and family.

Barbara is survived by her children; Paula Peterson-Mazza and her husband Tony; Jeffrey Marcus; and Pamela Peck; seven grandchildren; Jonathan, Christopher, Matthew, Justin, Joseph, Jamie, and Julie; seven great-grandchildren; siblings; Edward T. Simmons and wife Barbara; Joanne Gardner and her husband Richard; and close friends; Joan Stewart and Stephanie Corte.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at a later date.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452
