Barbara L. (Mannion) Denault, 77, of Shrewsbury died Saturday, May 20, 2006 after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Leo (Tibby) Denault. Born in Waltham, she was the daughter of the late William and Louise (Doucette) Mannion. She was a resident of Ashland for 45 years before moving to Shrewsbury. She worked in retail for many years. Barbara was an avid bingo and poker player and a member of the Ashland VFW Post 2331 Ladies Auxiliary. She leaves behind her children, George Denault and his wife Donna of Ashland, Doris Arena and her husband Paul of Shrewsbury, Florence Fales and her husband John of Framingham, Louise Denault of Hudson, Carol Meyers and her husband Charles of Lynn and the late Barbara Amendola. She leaves behind a sister Virginia Garvey of Billerica, one brother Leo Bezanson of Tewksbury, two sisters-in-law's, Claire Kokidko of Waltham and Grace Deneault of New Hampshire; and one uncle, Howard Doucette of Florida. She was predeceased by two brothers, William and Charles Mannion. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren along with many nieces, nephews and good friends. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, May 24th, at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland with cremation to follow. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home (www.mataresefuneral.com) 325 Main St. in Ashland.
