Davies, Barbara Ashland Barbara Russell Davies, 90, long time resident of Ashland, passed away Tuesday, June 6th. She was the wife of the late Carlyle Davies who passed away in 1995. Mrs. Davies was born in Hudson and was the daughter of the late Chesley and Persis (Brigham) Russell. She worked as a secretary and bookkeeper finishing her career with General Motors of Framingham. Mrs. Davies was a member of the First Federated Church of Ashland for over 50 years. She volunteered at the church and the church run thrift shop. Mrs. Davies enjoyed crossword puzzles and was an avid reader, serving as a volunteer at the Ashland Public Library. Mrs. Davies is survived by one niece, Nancy Russell Orr of Woodward, OK: two nephews, Robert C. Russell, Jr. of Wichita Falls, TX, and Richard F. Russell of Garden City, NY; and a grand niece, Mary Margaret Russell Enos of Colorado. Mrs. Davies was also sister to the late Chelsey B. Russell and Robert C. Russell.
