Arnold Bain, 89, of Ashland passed away Saturday March 16, 2013. He was the husband of Frances (Davis) Bain for 61 years. A resident of Ashland for over 60 years, Mr. Bain worked as a machinist at the Watertown Arsenal and later for the Army Materials and Research Center for over 30 years retiring in 1987. Arnold served his country honorably with the Army during WWII in the European Theatre. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Karen Bain-Morgado and her husband Sam of Westborough, Paula Oliveira of Marlborough, Matthew Bain and his wife Kathryn of Ashland, and John Bain and his wife Katherine of Arlington; as well as five grandchildren: Shiloh Morgado, Kaitlin Domestico, Stephanie Oliveira, and Marissa and Alandra Bain; four great-grandchildren; niece and great-niece Patricia and Nicole Demers; and several other nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011.
