Armando Puntini, 97, of Ashland passed away Sunday Jan. 15th after a period of declining health. Born in Ashland, he was the son of the late Albert and Justina (Giombetti) Puntini and husband of the late Lucy (Miscia) Puntini who died in 1997. Armando worked as a firefighter for the Town of Ashland for 20 years retiring in 1978. He previously worked for GE Telechron in Ashland.   Mr. Puntini served his country honorably with the Army during WWII, serving in the European Theater. He was a past member of the VFW Post 2331 in Ashland.

He is survived by three children; Anne Hildreth of Ashland; Raymond Puntini and his wife Marcia of Milford; and Michael Puntini and his wife Kim of Ashland; six grandchildren; Joanne, Christopher, and Matthew Hildreth; and Andrew, Nicole, and Laura Puntini; and two brothers; Richard Puntini of TN, and Robert Puntini of Hopkinton, MA.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday Jan. 18th at 10:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland with burial to follow in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland. One calling hour will be held Wednesday from 9:00-10:00am prior to the service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 480 Pleasant St, Watertown, MA 02472
