Arden Hollis Yorke, 93, of Ashland passed away peacefully Wed. April 30th at this home surrounded by family. Arden was the loving husband of Pauline (Cole) Yorke who pre-deceased him in 2012. A resident of Ashland for over 60 years, he worked as a quality control officer for General Motors for 40 years and was a member of the UAW Local 422. Mr. Yorke was a devoted member of the Federated Church of Ashland, serving as a longtime deacon and active in many church groups. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion and strong supporter of the NRA. Arden served his country honorably with the Army during WWII in the Military Police, Canine Officer. He will be remembered and missed by two daughters; Jane Dyar and her husband Michael of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and Ardeth Distefano and her husband Pat of Quincy, MA; five grandchildren; Ian, Abba, Marcy, Lesly, and Tracy; and five great-grandchildren; Gabriel, Talina, Noa, Eden, and Leo. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 3rd at 10:00am in the Federated Church of Ashland, 100 Main St. Ashland. There are no calling hours.
