Anthony L. Umbro, 50, of Framingham, died Wednesday, Nov. 16, 2005, after a short battle with cancer. He was the husband of Nora (Dowd) Umbro, to whom he was married 19 years. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of Tony Umbro and the late Georgette (Homsy) Umbro. A lifelong resident of Allston, Mr. Umbro moved to Framingham in 1990. He was the president and general manager of Umbro & Sons Construction, a water and sewer utility firm that often worked for the Boston Water and Sewer Commission. He was a member of the Utility Contractors Association of New England. Besides his wife and father, he leaves two children, Sara and Jarred Umbro of Framingham; a stepdaughter, Nicole Mackenzie of Natick; two brothers, Paul Umbro and his wife, Diane, of Lincoln and Joseph Umbro and his wife, Julie, of Waltham; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Monday, Nov. 21, at 10 a.m., at the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Ashland, presided by the Rev. Robin L. Zucker, a Unitarian Universalist, followed by cremation. Visiting hours will be held Sunday, Nov. 20, from 3 to 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
