Anthony "Tony" McGill, 69 of Shrewsbury Ma., passed away August 2, 2021, at home.

Born in Newport RI., he was the son of the late Leo McGill Sr. and Shirley (Lovie) (McGill) Haley.  Tony worked very hard in his life; starting in the restaurant and retail business in his younger years, the mail service and various management positions, and finally pumping gas in Shrewsbury in his later years!

Tony loved the outdoors, from an afternoon just sitting soaking up the sun along the banks of Lake Quinsigamond, hiking the White Mountains, very long bike rides, to kayaking from the boat docks in Shrewsbury Ma.

Tony was blessed to have long time childhood friends; Michael and his sister Ann, and Bruce and Marion, who's friendships and caring meant so much to him.

Tony is survived by his sister Carolyn (McGill) Gardner and her husband Wayne of Wells Maine, and his nieces, Bonnie Patterson, Cheryl McFague, Jennifer Luth, Kathleen Galeota, nephew, Ron LaPointe Jr., and many great nieces and nephews.

Tony was predeceased by his parents, and his sister Linda (McGill) LaPointe.

Services are private and under the direction of the Matarese Funeral Home of Ashland.
