Anthony DeCollibus, 88, of Hopkinton passed away Saturday Nov. 28th at his home surrounded by family. He was the loving husband of Adele (Misalsky) DeCollibus for 68 years. Anthony was born and raised in Framingham, the son of the late Anthony P. and Clara (Creasia) DeCollibus. He graduated from Framingham High School in 1944 where he served as Class Treasurer and was a member of the Civic League Players. He served his country honorably during WWII in the Navy from 1944-1947 aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt aircraft carrier. Anthony inherited the family automotive business in 1953 after his father's passing which had been operating since 1932. He went on to create DeCollibus Auto Body, a business he loved and was involved with to the end of his life. Over the years he enjoyed golfing, shell fishing, building and flying model airplanes, traveling, and spending time with his wife and family at his Cape Cod cottage.
In addition to his wife; he is survived by three children; Robert DeCollibus and his wife Linda of Marlborough; Jerry DeCollibus and his wife Binki of Hopkinton; and Marie Cress and her husband Kevin of Frisco, TX; six grandchildren; Eric DeCollibus, Jennifer Tredeau, Alexandra DeCollibus and her husband Mike Krausert, and Nicole, Jason, and Caleb Cress; and one great-grandson, Max Tredeau. He was the brother of the late John and Albert DeCollibus, Josephine Bronzetti, and Olga Riani.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday Dec. 3rd at 10:00am at St. Matthew's Parish, 105 Southville Rd. Southboro with burial to follow in Mt. Auburn Cemetery in Hopkinton. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Matthew's Parish, 105 Southville Road, Southboro, MA 01772
