Anne Elizabeth (Barrett) Winchenbach, 89, of Upton, MA (formerly of Ashland, MA and Framingham, MA), died on June 12, 2026 at Lydia Taft House Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center in Uxbridge, MA.

She was the wife of (the late) Walter B. Winchenbach, Jr.

Born and raised in Framingham, the daughter of the late Robert and Honora (Donahue) Barrett, Anne was a graduate of Mount St. Joseph Academy and attended Framingham State College.  She loved knitting and donating countless prayer shawls to the church for those in need. Anne was a longtime member of St. Cecelia's parish in Ashland and an active member of St. Gabriel the Archangel parish in Upton.

Anne is survived by three sons and two daughters − Walter B. Winchenbach III of Whittier, California, Christopher B. Winchenbach of Shrewsbury, MA, Jonathan R. Winchenbach and his wife Marjorie of Holliston, MA, Maria E. Farragher and her husband David of Upton, MA, and Jennifer A. Bolton and her husband Todd of Upton, MA.

Anne leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren and one great grandchild, including Kyle Winchenbach of Walpole, MA, Kristine Winchenbach of Shrewsbury, MA, Cullen Farragher of Ypsilanti, MI, Kaelan Farragher of Bellingham, MA, Kerri Farragher of Charlotte, NC, Delaney Bolton of Grafton, MA, Lily Bolton of Upton, MA, Abigail and Elizabeth Winchenbach of Holliston, MA and great grandchild Wally Olson.  She is also survived by sister-in-law Lynne Winchenbach of Westboro, MA and is predeceased by her brother Robert Barrett of Providence, RI, brother William Barrett of Anchorage, sister Irene Mangan of Ashland, MA and daughter-in-law Lynn Winchenbach.

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday June 18th at 10:30am at St. Gabriel the Archangel, 151 Mendon Street, Upton, MA followed by burial in Wildwood Cemetery in Ashland.  Visiting hours will be held Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.

Family and friends are invited to gather directly at St. Gabriel the Archangel on Thursday morning.  Mass will begin promptly at 10:30am.
