Anna Marie McGowan, 76, of Ashland, passed away, Tuesday, Nov. 8th, at Bethany Healthcare in Framingham. Born in Milford, she was the daughter of the late John and Anna (Jarvis) Kirby. She was the wife of the late William McGowan, who died in 1976. She was a resident of Medway for 30 years until moving to Ashland in 1960. A graduate of the Framingham Union Nursing School and the Worcester Nursing School, Mrs. McGowan worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Cushing Hospital until her retirement. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland. Mrs. McGowan is survived by one sister, Theresa Chapman of Berthoud, CO; one son, Michael Crowley of Hopkinton, three grandchildren; Angela, Sean, and Janine Crowley; and one nephew, Rick Chapman of Loveland, CO. She was the sister of the late Edward Kirby of Medway. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, Nov. 12th at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland with burial to follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Medway. Calling hours will be held Friday from 5:00-8:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. in Ashland.
