Anna Mary (Belli) Luker,93, longtime resident of Framingham, passed away on Sun.,Dec. 22, 2024 with her family by her side. She as the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Philomena (Parillo) Belli and the wife of George P. Luker who died in 2020.
Anna's young years were filled with family tragedies with the deaths of her father and two older sisters, Jenny and Mary, before Anna was eleven years of age. After these
significant losses, Anna, her brother Antonio and their Mother moved from the home and farm her father built in West Concord and to Maynard.
Anna graduated from Maynard High, Class of 1949, where she excelled in her studies, played basketball, was a class officer, a cheerleader and on the Homecoming Court. She attended the Framingham Union School of Nursing on a scholarship and became a Registered Nurse. Anna married George Luker on Nov. 19, 1955. She was a dedicated wife and mother to her young family and worked as a nurse at night and as a secretary for George's early law practice during the day while raising four children. She eventually became head RN for both the Recovery Room and Same Day Surgery at FUH ( MetroWest), retiring in 1989.
Anna was a wonderful cook, a talented crafter of needlepoint, dolls, beading, painting and Nantucket baskets. She enjoyed family visits, cooking, golfing with friends and her beloved cats and dogs.
Anna is survived by her children Joseph Luker of Millis,MA, Jodie Luker of Ogunquit, ME, Thomas Luker of Framingham, MA and Timothy Luker and his wife Anne of Hampstead, NH. She is "Nanna-Anna" to her grandchildren Laura Fiore-Radom and husband Dan, Dianna Fiore-Passmore and husband Ian, Thomas Fiore, John Fiore, Anna Luker, Benjamin Luker, George Luker and Emily Luker and "Great Nanna-Anna" to Luisa Radom.
Visiting hours will be held prior to a Chapel service on Thurs., Dec. 26th, 2024 from 4PM to 6PM. A funeral service will be celebrated Thurs., Dec.26,2024 at 6:00 PM in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St., Ashland, MA.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna's memory may be made to the ASPCA , www.aspca.org or your local animal rescue.
