Ann Thurston, 105, passed away April 30th at Countryside Nursing Home in Framingham, MA. She was born April 12, 1907 in Eaton Corner, Quebec, Canada to Herbert Leavitt and Mary (Hynds) Leavitt. Ann moved to Ashland at the age of three and lived in Ashland most of her life. A graduate of Ashland High, Class of 1925, she was secretary for over 50 years to the late Henry Warren, founder and president of Telechron. She was the treasurer and secretary of the Warren Benevolent Fund, honorary member of the Ashland Historical Society and a member of the Board of Directors of the Massachusetts 4H Foundation. She was the wife of the late Harold Thurston and sister of the late Fannie Baldwin and the late Margaret Gast of Ashland. Mrs. Thurston is survived by her daughter, Ruth Thurston of Ashland and her son, Mackay Thurston of Upton, MA; her nephew, Edwin Gast of Mt. City, Tennesee; her nieces, Mary Truesdale of Framingham and Margaret Gray of Rye, NH. Services for Mrs. Thurston will be held on Friday, May 4th in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main Street, Ashland at 11 AM followed by interment in Wildwood Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday morning prior to the service from 10 AM to 11 AM.
