Ann Virginia Crowley nee Aikens, 84 of Ashland formerly of Wayland died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on Tuesday September 11th. She was the daughter of Andrew J. Aikens and Mary (Steinmann) Aikens, and the wife of the late John D. Crowley. A graduate of Boston College and Burbank School of Nursing, she worked at the Waltham Hospital Emergency Room as a Registered Nurse through 1982. She received her Master's degree in Nursing from Simmons College in 1983 then worked as a Nurse Practitioner at Brigham and Women's Hospital until her retirement in 2008. She was an active member of both St. Matthew's Parish in Southborough and Good Shepherd Parish in Wayland where she sang in the choir.
Mrs. Crowley is survived by five children; Patrick J. Crowley, Richard J. Crowley, Andrew T. Crowley, Rosemary Crowley Fedorchak, Matthew D. Crowley, siblings, in-laws, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Matthew's Parish, 103 Southville St. Southborough, MA on Saturday September 22nd at 9:00 am. Calling hours will be Friday September 21st from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th floor, Brookline, Mass 02445.
