Andrea Renee
Alves-Bosworth
Apr 25, 1979 — Nov 23, 2017
Andréa Reneé (Alves) Bosworth, 38, of Medway, MA passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends on Thanksgiving Day, November 23 in Providence, RI. For 32 days Andrea fought bravely but ultimately succumbed to injuries sustained from a traffic accident on October 22.
Andrea truly had a zest for life and that passion radiated from the inside out. One of her favorite quotes was "Be so busy loving your life that you have no time for hate, regret, or fear." And busy she was, somehow balancing life as an incredible mother to three young children, a sponsored Ironman Triathlon athlete, a technology teacher at Nipmuc Regional High School in Upton, a real-estate agent, an ambassador to Grace Bicycles in Holliston, a ski instructor, and a student pursuing her Master's Degree in Education. Andrea truly embodied the Ironman motto "Anything is Possible." Her idea of relaxing was going for a 100-mile bike ride or a two-hour training run, and it was in the Ironman athletic community that Andrea was truly able to find herself. Always motivated, Andrea found joy in setting goals and smashing each one in turn: in a little over a year, she completed three Ironman Triathlon, the last of which her children were able to watch her compete in Louisville, KY only a week before the tragic accident.
Andrea's boundless energy was infectious and her strength and determination to succeed was contagious; she was inspiring in every way. She lifted up those around her each and every day, always helping, encouraging, and supporting her family, friends, and strangers alike no matter the circumstances. She was truly a beautiful person and a kind soul and the world is a little less bright without her in it.
Andrea is survived by her three wonderful children Lauren McLean Bosworth, 10, Brody Michael Bosworth, 8, and Anna Grace Bosworth, 7, of Medway and Ashland, and their father Beau Bosworth of Ashland; her parents Claudia Langlois of Uxbridge and Michael Alves of Ashland; her brother Christopher Alves of Framingham; her brother Antonio Joseph Alves of Medway; and her grandmother Mary (neé Preservati) Alves of Ashland; along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a wonderful community of friends and athletes in the Ironman community and beyond. She is predeceased by her grandparents Rita and Claude Langlois, her grandfather Antonio Alves of Ashland, and her uncle Anthony Alves of Ashland.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday Dec. 1st at 9:00am in St. Cecilia's Parish, 54 Esty St. Ashland, MA. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 3:00-7:00 PM in the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.
