Obituary

Andon "Tony" Botka, 77, of Hopkinton passed away Sun. Sept. 17th with his family by his side.  Born in Hudson, he was the son of Albanian immigrants, the late Christy and Sophie (Koka) Botka and husband of Ann (Collins) Botka for 46 years.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kelly Botka Leone of Framingham, and Kris Ann Trychon and her husband Timothy of Ashland, two grandsons, Dominic Leone and Timmy Trychon, sister-in-law, Harriette Botka , and brother-in-law, James Walckner.  He was the brother of the late William Botka and Connie Botka Walckner.

A resident of Hopkinton since 1970, for most of his life Tony worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Local 475.  Tony found a second career in the auction business buying and selling construction equipment where he made a lot of friends, anyone who knew him knew how much he loved a "great deal." He adored spending time with his grandchildren. Playing the "bat game" with Timmy and taking in Dom's countless hockey and baseballs games. He loved to talk politics, never keeping his point of view a secret. He also valued his visits with his longtime friends on Megunko Rd. in Ashland, daily coffee at Honey Dew coffee shop and Friday lunch at Columbus Hall in Framingham.     A funeral service will be celebrated Friday Sept. 22nd at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland followed by urn burial in Glenwood Cemetery in Natick.  Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM in the funeral home.

The Botka family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses at Milford Regional Hospital for exceptional care Tony received.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Milford Regional Healthcare Foundation, http://foundation.milfordregional.org/
