Alice Kathryn
Mach
Oct 27, 1928 — Dec 15, 2024
Framingham
Alice Kathryn (Tyndall) Mach, 96, passed away peacefully at her home in Framingham on December 15, 2024.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, Alice was the daughter of the late Warren and Esther (Hall) Tyndall. She was the beloved wife of the late Charles (Charlie) Mach for 59 years. Alice is survived by her daughters Christine Pihl of Upton, MA, and Linda Faltas of Norfolk, MA, and grandchildren Elena, Jenna, Lauren, and Stephen.
Alice grew up in Whitestone, NY. She attended the Jamison Franklin School of Professional Arts in Manhattan. After working as a commercial artist for several years she married Charlie and moved to Ashland to raise her daughters. Over the following years she worked part time at Fitts Photo and TJX Corporation.
Alice was a long time resident of Ashland, MA. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Holliston and sang in the choir for many years.
Although both Alice and Charlie grew up in NYC, Alice loved spending time in the great outdoors - hiking, boating, and swimming, and she instilled that love in her children and grandchildren. She spent many wonderful weekends at their summer home in the Berkshires and enjoyed traveling to Bermuda and Florida. Most of all she cherished spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.
Alice expressed her creativity through her painting, quilting, and hooking rugs with wool she dyed herself. During retirement, she spent time painting decorative birds that Charlie carved.
Alice was an animal lover and owned many cats and dogs over her lifetime including two rescue dogs from Save A Dog in Sudbury. Anyone wishing to honor her life and legacy may do so by donating to Save A Dog , the MSPCA , or the Trustees of Reservations .
Alice was well loved by her family and friends and she will be sorely missed.
