Alice J. Bixby, 102, longtime resident of Ashland, passed away Mon. March 27 ^th after a period of declining health.  Born in Wilmot, NH, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Lillian (Fowler) LaJoie and wife of the late Samuel Bixby who died in 2008.  Alice worked for several years as a hairdresser at Leavits Department Store and later worked as a registration clerk at Framingham Union Hospital.  She was active in the Ashland community as a member of the Theta Phi Delta's of the Federated Church of Ashland and as a member of the Ashland Garden Club.

Alice is survived by her daughter, Linda Bixby and her wife Marcella Meadows of Upton, MA, her son Steven Bixby of Round Pond, ME, Robin Bixby, and one granddaughter, Caroline Bixby and her husband Brock Carleton of Springfield, MA.

A funeral service will be held Saturday April 29 ^th at 11:00am in the Chapel of the Matarese Funeral Home, 325 Main St. Ashland, MA.  Donations in Alice's name may be made to the Ashland Garden Club or Federated Church of Ashland.
