Biography

Phyllis C. Davidson, age 80, of Framingham died Feb. 3 at the MetroWest Medical Center in Natick surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Davidson was born Aug. 19, 1929 in Boston. She attended Boston University and worked as a bookeeper and in child care during her professional career. She was married to her dedicated husband, Arthur W. Davidson, for almost 57 years. Mrs. Davidson was the devoted mother both of Arthur P. Davidson, sports editor of the MetroWest and Milford Daily News and Patricia L. Davidson, a partner of the law firm Mirick O'Connell of Worcester. Mrs. Davidson was also the mother-in-law of Howard J. Caplan, Director of Staff Development for the Massachusetts Office of Medicaid. In addition, Mrs. Davidson is survived by her sister, Lena of Newton, and nieces Judy Neville and Virginia Malone of Newton. She also touched the lives of many others who were part of her extended family. Phyllis loved life to the fullest. She was a fan of both the Red Sox and the theater. Calling hours will be Sunday at the Matarese Funeral Home in Ashland from 2-4 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 9 a.m. at St. Cecilia's Church in Ashland. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick.
