Edna I Toohil
December 29, 1917 - January 31, 2010
Edna I. (Nelson) Toohil, 92, a long time resident of Waltham, and most recently of Framingham, died peacefully Sunday, January 31, 2010 after a short illness. She was pre-deceased by her husband of 50 years, John Paul Toohil, Sr., who died in 1993.

Edna was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Agnes and Alfred Nelson. She was educated in Worcester and lived in Waltham for over 50 years. Edna enjoyed gardening and oil painting as hobbies and she and John raised their four children in Waltham.

Edna is survived by her children, Kathleen and her husband, Ronald Joanis of Clinton, CT, John Paul Toohil, Jr. and his wife, Dianna of Ashland, Elizabeth Reynolds and her husband, the late Carl Reynolds of Lincoln, and Robert Toohil of Rutland. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael and Wendy Joanis of Windham, NH, Sean and Valerie Joanis of Hanson, Erin and Scott O’Hara of Leominster, Katie Toohil and Jason Roach of Dallas, Texas, Eric and Melissa Reynolds of Waltham, Emily Reynolds and Jay Bonfigilo of Easton, Ryan Toohil of Somerville, Brendon and Jessica Toohil of Rutland, and Matthew Toohil of Rutland. Edna also had 11 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 4th from 9:00-10:00am in St. Patrick’s Manor, 863 Central St. in Framingham followed by a funeral Mass at 10:00am in the Chapel of St. Patrick’s Manor. Burial will be private.
